Peshawar: (Lord Media) Military and political leaders in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have agreed on a joint strategy to combat terrorism during a meeting at the Corps Headquarters. The meeting was attended by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Suhail Afridi, the National Security Advisor, and the Peshawar Corps Commander, along with other senior officials.
According to the meeting’s declaration, the military responsibilities in the Malakand Division will be handed over to provincial institutions. This decision will be implemented in phases in the affected districts of Khyber, Orakzai, and Kurram in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
A special sub-committee, led by the Chief Minister, will be established to oversee development projects and review military operations in these areas. The committee will hold monthly review meetings.
The meeting also decided to continue strict measures against illegal SIM cards, explosive materials, and extortion, while focusing on the phased profiling of non-custom paid vehicles.
