Islamabad: (Lord Media) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken immediate notice of NEPRA’s new solar regulations, assuring the protection of solar users’ rights. In a key meeting chaired by the Prime Minister, it was decided to maintain a balance between the rights of solar users and the burden on regular electricity consumers under NEPRA’s new rules.
The Energy Minister clarified which consumers the new solar policy will apply to. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif instructed the Power Division to file a review appeal in NEPRA to safeguard solar users’ agreements.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the burden of 466,000 solar beneficiaries should not fall on regular electricity consumers. The Power Division has been directed to prepare a plan for consumers using the national grid in this regard.
A new billing system for solar panel users has been implemented, which will bring significant changes.
