Kite Festival Boosts Punjab Economy by Over 20 Billion

Lahore: (Lord Media) The All Pakistan Kite Flying Association reported that the Basant festival generated over 20 billion rupees in Punjab, benefiting the province’s economy.

Officials from the association stated that kite and string sales surpassed 3 billion rupees, providing employment to related sectors. They thanked the Chief Minister of Punjab for reviving Basant, which promoted cultural activities.

The association expressed regret over the incident in Islamabad and mentioned that SOPs were developed with government support for Basant. Over one million safety rods were installed.

In some instances, prices surged, with a kite string reel selling for up to 40,000 rupees. The association opposes profiteering, and the government will take action.

Plans are underway to celebrate Basant across Punjab next year, with assurance from the Chief Minister. The association aims to hold the festival multiple times a year.
