Lahore: (Lord Media) Bangladesh Cricket Board has urged Pakistan to reconsider its boycott of the match against India. Bangladesh Cricket Board President Aminul Islam met with Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi in Lahore, stating that it is essential to review the boycott in the interest of global cricket. ICC Vice Chairman Imran Khawaja was also present at the meeting.
The dispute began when Bangladesh requested to hold its matches in Sri Lanka instead of India due to threats from Hindu extremists, a request that was denied, leading to Bangladesh’s exclusion from the tournament.
Pakistan labeled the decision as unfair and announced it would not play against India on February 15. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka and UAE cricket boards have also requested Pakistan to reconsider.
Consultations between Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif are ongoing, with a final decision on the India match boycott yet to be made.
